What To Bring

We recommend you bring the following general items with you to Senalala:

  • Neutral colored clothing.
  • Camera/video camera, binoculars, flashlight/torch.
  • Comfortable walking shoes/hiking boots for walks and sandals to wear within the camp.
  • Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and personal toiletries.
  • Bush jacket, light raincoat, swimsuit (in summer) and warm clothing (in winter).
  • Medications and insect repellant.

Senalala is located in a malarial zone so guests are advised to take appropriate prophylactics. It is also recommended that you consult your doctor/physician before travelling.

 
 
 

Seasons

Senalala is a year-round destination with spectacular game viewing in different seasons throughout the year.

Summer is from late September to March and features moderate to high temperatures (24-38°C / 75-100°F), with the warmest days occurring between December and February. Summer is typically the rainy season with the majority of rainfall occurring between October and April.

Winter is from April to August and features cool to moderate temperatures (7-24°C / 45-75°F), with the coolest days occurring in June and July. Winter is dry with generally moderate daytime temperatures.

Cold early morning and evening temperatures mean guests should have warm clothing for the game drives, however the campfire typically provides adequate warmth for evenings within the camp.

 
 
 

Camp Policies

Child Policy 

Children of 12 years and older are accepted. Children aged 12 – 18 years pay 100% of the adult rate.When the camp is booked exclusively, no minimum age limit for children applies.

Deposit

To secure the booking, a 50% deposit is required within 7 days of making the reservation.

Full payment is required 30 days prior to arrival. Non payment may result in cancellation of the reservation.

Cancellation policy

If a cancellation of a reservation, or any part thereof, is received 30 or more days prior to arrival, the deposit will be forfeited.

If a cancellation of a reservation, or any part thereof, is received 0 – 29 days prior to arrival, a 70% cancellation fee will apply.

Cancellation of a reservation must be in writing (email) and acknowledged by Senalala.

Senalala reserves the right to automatically release any reservation held where the required deposit has not been received.

Walking safaris

The minimum age limit for walking safaris is 16 years.

Check-in / Check-out

Check-in time is 13:30. Lunch served at 14:00.

Check-out time is 10:30 after breakfast.

At check-in an indemnification form will need to be completed and signed, and ID/Passport may be requested.

 Smoking

Senalala does not allow smoking in the common areas or chalets.
